There's a lot that goes into picking out "just the right" costume. These costumes that you and your child put so much time into are great for parties and trick-or-treating but, they are also one of the best props for a portrait.

The list is as endless as your child's imagination.
This is Ellie (first photo) in her Wonder Woman costume. The portrait was taken last year and because, as we all know, kids grow crazy fast, the costume is too small for her this year.
I'm sure that Ellie has already picked out a new costume but, I'm also sure that she and her parents are happy to have a portrait of this time in her life. When she was 7 and she loved being Wonder Woman and never wanted to take off her costume. She wore it to the dinner table, the store, to bed. They passed it on to a friend who they're sure will get as much love and memories from it as they did.
These are composite portraits, which means they are taken in-studio and then I add backgrounds, floors, a little of this and a little of that in post production.
I encourage my clients to consider printing their portraits on a larger scale. No art work purchased at Kirklands or Pier One could be more beautiful or meaningful to display in your home than a fine art portrait of your child.
